What we store, and why.

SchoolsNest is a platform that runs websites and school portals for independent schools. Each school operates its own site on a subdomain of schoolsnest.com or on its own custom domain. This policy covers the platform site (schoolsnest.com) and every school site we host.

• Accounts and sign-in.Names, email addresses, and roles (admin, teacher, parent, student). Authentication is handled by Clerk; we use session cookies to keep you signed in across a school's pages.
• Student and family records. Enrollment information, class and grade assignments, coursework, quiz results, and progress — entered and controlled by each school.
• Health and allergy profiles.Schools using the lunch program can record student allergies and dietary restrictions so meals are served safely. These are visible only to the school's authorized staff.
• Staff vetting documents.Schools can collect identity, certification, and screening documents from staff for their own review. These files are stored privately and are visible only to the school's administrators.
• Payments. Payments are processed by Stripe. We store order and invoice records (what was bought, for how much, by which account). Card numbers never touch our servers.
• Communications. Transactional email (invitations, notifications, digests) is sent through Brevo. Messages sent inside the platform are stored so the people in the conversation can read them.

Public forms on this platform are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which may run invisibly — without showing you a challenge. Turnstile evaluates limited browser and device signals to tell humans apart from bots; we never see those signals, only the pass/fail result. Cloudflare's handling of that data is described in the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.

The platform runs on Cloudflare's network: application data in Cloudflare D1, uploaded files and media in Cloudflare R2. Our processors are Cloudflare (hosting), Clerk (authentication), Stripe (payments), and Brevo (email). We do not sell personal data, and we do not run third-party advertising.

Each school owns and controls the records it keeps on SchoolsNest; we process them on the school's behalf. For corrections, access questions, or deletion of a school-held record, contact your school first — its administrators can revoke access and delete user data from their own dashboard.
